Linda Rhodes, VMD, Ph.D. Endorses Mindi Messmer for Congress

"In two months, we’ll vote to choose a candidate for the Congressional District 1 seat from a crowded field with many talented candidates. We’ll need to choose the best person, who’ll fight for us on important issues and uphold our values, and who can win this race in November.

Mindi Messmer entered politics after she reported the cancer cluster problem in Rye, and the state did nothing about it. She ran for the NH House and won, and was able to work in a bipartisan way to pass some important environmental bills. Clean water and clean air are not issues that just Democrats care about - people know it might be their children who get sick.

Mindi is an environmental scientist and a small business owner. She’s also a mom and has lived in New Hampshire for over 30 years. She’s seen how good politicians who care about our future can make a difference, and she wants to make that difference on a national level. Her scientific work on clinical trial innovation to accelerate finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

As a freshman Representative in the 400-person New Hampshire House in a Republican supermajority, Mindi has successfully worked across the aisle to write and pass important legislation that protects public health, the vulnerable elderly, women's and LGBTQ rights. She has sponsored or co-sponsored 13 pieces of legislation that have been signed into law by the Governor.

Mindi can win against a Republican candidate. Republicans are going to spend a lot of dark money to try to win back the CD1 seat. Mindi takes no money from PACs or big corporate donors. On Mindi’s side - she has us - her campaign is an amazing fired up grassroots effort fueled by small donations, not dark money interests. Her supporters are spreading the word and getting out the vote. We are more powerful than dark money. Her deep roots in New Hampshire will make the difference.

People of all parties are looking for a person who is in politics for the right reasons. I believe Mindi Messmer is that person, and I hope you’ll join me in supporting her in the Democratic Primary (VOTE on Sept. 11) and then in November, after she wins the Primary."

In Solidarity,

Team Mindi for Congress
